Research: I am using the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) to determine the near-infrared microlensing event rate neat the Galactic center. This work uses gravitational microlensing to search for new planets, and serves as a precursor investigation for the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST), which will find thousands of new planets from space starting in the mid 2020s.
