Research

I want to know the origin of RV Tauri variables and their place in stellar evolution. The characteristic behavior of these pulsating stars is detected in their light curves as they display a double-wave of alternating deep and shallow minima in brightness. I am analyzing high-precision photometric Kepler data to explore the detailed light curve of DF Cygni, an RV Tauri type star.

Goals

I plan to earn a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. I want to help answer questions about the universe, become a better communicator and public speaker, encourage younger generations to pursue fields in STEM, and contribute to making the world a better place by recycling and do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint on Earth.
